The derived credential solution is built upon PIV or CAC smartcard credentials, representing an electronic certificate akin to those on your smartcard. However, derived credentials offer the flexibility of being stored on various mobile devices such as smartphones or tablets. This standardized approach is defined by the National Institute of Standards and Technology's Special Publication 800-157 (NIST SP 800-157).

Workspace ONE PIV-D Manager enables users to substitute their smartcards and leverage its capabilities in various scenarios:

• As an authentication factor for email access, website login, and other enterprise online resources.
• For electronic signature of PDF documents.

The application seamlessly integrates with all major mobile email applications and browsers, ensuring compatibility across platforms.

Furthermore, Workspace ONE PIV-D Manager is compatible with YubiKey, allowing users to use credentials stored on YubiKey just as they would with those on their mobile devices.
